The Band of Joes...hmmm... interesting name, but is everyone in this band really named Joe? Not exactly, but when trying to understand the phenomenon that is the Band of Joes one should simply look at the personalities of its members. Each one is a cog in the machinery of music unique to Chicago that throws working class musicians together from diverse backgrounds to make music for regular people. Hard working and committed to their mutuall "joe-ness", this band represents the coming together of this ideal. After years of joe-kingly calling each other Joe this band made the distinction official when Joe's Bebop Cafe., through some ironic twist of fate, became their weekly home. |
